Laura Leighton

Dr Laura Leighton is a postdoctoral research fellow in Dr Seth Cheetham's lab at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, working closely with the BASE mRNA facility. Her research focuses on characterising and optimising the delivery of mRNA therapeutics as a future treatment for liver cancer. Laura has a longstanding focus on RNA biology, having completed her PhD on noncoding RNAs in the context of learning and memory with Prof. Timothy Bredy at the Queensland Brain Institute, supported by the Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship.
